I like to read the children's book, The Three Little Pigs, the Wolf's Side of the Story, to my class before we graph this picture. The story can be found on the internet, but you may want to by the book instead. Then, you may show the class the pictures. All ages enjoy this book.
This puzzle is great to use in math centers. It can review both changing mixed numbers to improper fractions or vise verse. It will be a fun way for you students to review a basic skill.
Our school mascot is a cobra, so I use this each homecoming as a fun activity. We graph the cobra on a large sheet of graph paper, and the students use their creativity to decorate the cobra as a homecoming queen, football player, cheerleader, etc...... If your mascot is not a cobra, use your imagination to create an activity to make the graph lots of fun for your students.
students work in cooperative learning groups to order fractions, decimals, and percents. They will use a clothesline as their number line. Fun! Fun! Fun!
