My passion is helping students learn to love learning, and finding success in reading and writing! I was a grade 7 Humanities teacher at a special education school for three years, where I focused on remediating literacy skills for students with Specific Learning Disabilities. Interview with a Peer
Use this comprehensive set of questions for peers to interview each other and get to know one another! When the interview is over, students are tasked with creating a poster of their peer's answers/interests WITHOUT putting their name on the page. Teaching style
My pedagogy is rooted in a student-centered approach, and meeting students where they are at. If my students are not interested in what I am teaching, I need to adjust my lessons to be more engaging and focused on topics that interest them. I want each student in my classroom to know that I value them as an individual and that each of their unique perspectives are encouraged to be shared. Ultimately, my goal is to help students feel good about themselves at school so they can fully engage in their learning to discover their passions and areas of interest!
