About the store

Experience

My passion is helping students learn to love learning, and finding success in reading and writing! I was a grade 7 Humanities teacher at a special education school for three years, where I focused on remediating literacy skills for students with Specific Learning Disabilities. I am experienced at developing lessons and resources with differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners in the room, no matter where they are at.

Teaching style

My pedagogy is rooted in a student-centered approach, and meeting students where they are at. If my students are not interested in what I am teaching, I need to adjust my lessons to be more engaging and focused on topics that interest them. I want each student in my classroom to know that I value them as an individual and that each of their unique perspectives are encouraged to be shared. Ultimately, my goal is to help students feel good about themselves at school so they can fully engage in their learning to discover their passions and areas of interest!
