The discussion board asks students to compose electronic responses to specific thematic topics for The Scarlet Letter. Teachers can assign these as often as they wish. I used schoology as my platform, but there are many others available. At the end of the unit, the students assigned to each thematic topic wrote a group literary essay with outside sources about that topic.
