About the store

Experience

I have been a Science teacher in British Columbia middle schools and high schools for 36 years. I have taught General Science in grades 8 through 10 and specialized in senior Chemistry and Biology in grades 11 and 12.

Teaching style

Teaching in small mill towns I had to develop teaching techniques that engaged students in their learning. I developed methods that encouraged interactive participation using scaffolded notes and discussion that pushed students into learning in greater depth. My unique teaching style was recognized by publishers and I wrote teacher guides and chapters for text books in BC, Manitoba and Ontario.

My own education history

I have an Honors B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry followed by teacher training at UBC..
