I have 7 years of teaching experience as a 6th grade science teacher in a suburban middle school. During this time, I've made it my mission to step out from my comfort zone, take chances, and learn from the stumbles along the way. The process has been rewarding beyond words, both professionally and personally.
I have served on my district's 5-9 Science Curriculum Committee to develop an aligned curriculum from elementary, through middle school, and into high school. I was selected as a member of a small district cohort to receive training in project-based learning (PBL) through PBL Works (Buck Institute) and piloted PBL within my district. As a district-wide Blended Learning Mentor, I received training in blended learning strategies and enhancing instruction with technology and served as a building mentor.
