My name is Debbie and I'm a Special Education Teacher. This is my 18th year teaching taking a very long break of about 20 years in the middle. I am teaching Science 8 to Resource Room students.
This activity allows students to think about one state of matter changing into another. Along with thinking about it, they then have to put a story together and be specific enough to keep it to six frames. Once the story is approved by you, the students will design a cartoon based on their story. I have always used this activity with groups of 2,3 or 4 students. Hanging them in class after the activity is complete enables the students to view each other's cartoons and see additional examples

Teaching style
My theory is to allow my students to be engaged in as many labs and activities each week as I can. The difference between lecturing through a class or hands-on labs is incredible. The students are engaged and learning at every step of that lab.
My own education history
I graduated from William Paterson University in New Jersey with a dual certification: Special Education and Elementary Education
Additional biographical information
I've owned and ran several businesses while on a 20-year break from teaching.
