About the store
Having taught middle school for 19 years now, my teaching experience is still evolving. In the beginning, teaching 8th grade English was a challenge. The English credential got me the job, but teaching science is where I needed to be. After four years a position opened and a dream came true. Since then it's all about Life Science. I like to call it... Biology 101. The most important class to teach.

Along with the "big idea" common CORE units it's FUN to have your students active and participating in conversations about the topic online in a Blog. I find it very effective for getting my students to form an opinion and take a stand. Argumentative writing soon follows. This Easy to read chart has clear guidelines for your students and allows effective communication and relationships to develop.

These flashcards are the perfect way to give your students a study tool they will value. There is a place to draw a simple picture along with lines for the written definitions. The word side is opaque obscuring the definition. You can play a whole class vocabulary game, partner pair-offs or just plain concentration. Can be used as a simple starter or a close activity. Perfect for science vocabulary or any topic where new vocabulary is important.

Experience

Having taught middle school for 19 years now, my teaching experience is still evolving. In the beginning, teaching 8th grade English was a challenge. Teaching style

Teaching with a heart AND brain is my teaching style. In the spirit of a "grandmother" patting her grandchildren on the back saying, "good job!". I find my style is changing with the times. Students in my class are moving around and experiencing many different venues; I use a traditional classroom, we have a science lab, a garden lab, a computer lab and go on field studies.
