This professional development presentation outlines the reasons why a gender gap exists in STEM and how we as teachers can help bolster female participation in STEM subjects. This presentation is suited for all teachers, not just those in science and math, as well as administration and support staff, and includes interactive activities to keep audience engagement up. Each slide has speaker notes to help with presenting and a full reference list.
This constellation activity includes 2 parts: A. The students must identify unlabeled constellations against a key of known constellations; B. The students must create their own constellation myth. The student sheet is written in both English and Spanish for ELLs.
Have students demonstrate their learning by using the alphabet! Students will use their creativity and knowledge of science to complete a slideshow, with each slide based on a letter of the alphabet. Instructions in English and Spanish!

I am NJ certified in Middle School Science, High School Psychology, and Elementary Education. My BA is in Psychology (3.96) and I have 2 MA's in Criminal Justice (4.0) and Teaching (4.0). I am currently in school for my third Master's Degree in Physics.
