I use this as a two part homework assignment. The first day, students are asked to restate the problem in their own words, determine the operation needed to solve the problem and draw a picture to represent the problem. They are not required to solve for an answer. After they turn it in, I review their work and give feedback based on what they wrote. This file includes a foldable for each of the main units for 7th Grade Common Core Standards. Students cut along the dotted lines to create a flap. They then clue the rest of the page to a lined sheet of paper in their notebooks. Students write the answer to the essential questions on the lined section under each flap. I use this as my warm up. Students Think-Pair-Share their answer and as a class we determine the best answer to write in the notebook.
