I haven been teaching elementary school for 5 years. I enjoy finding new, fun ways to help students learn. I have my Masters and I am always looking for ways to further my educations as well as my students'.
This is a fun fall activity to review multiplication facts. The students choose their own colors so that each quilt is slightly different.
Once the students complete the worksheet, the class can put their patches together to form one large quilt.
This is a fun way for students to experiment with matter (candy bars) and use science equipment.
After teaching a lesson on mass, volume and density, students can apply their knowledge and work in groups to measure different candy bars.
Items need:
-balance
-gram cubes
-ruler
-container filled with water
-pencil
-5 fun size candy bars (Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, KitKat, 3 Musketeer)
There is also a grading sheet where students can grade each other based on how well they worked as a group.
This addition math activity is a fun way for students to interact and practice math skills.
Students will use the tri-fold menu (printed front and back) and come up with their own restaurant and menu items with prices. Students can then visit each other and order menu items. The food tickets are used for placing an order and adding up the total cost.
The menu is 2 pages but will need to be printed front and back to fold properly. There are 3 food tickets on one page.
This is a great worksheet to do as a class or individually. Using perimeter and area students can do a quick, fun review before the holidays.
Directions: Miss Mary is a proud owner of a gingerbread house. She is getting ready for some guests and needs to do some updates to her home before the guests arrive. Help her find the perimeter and area of parts of her gingerbread home so she will be ready for her guests. Use a separate sheet of paper to show your work.
