This is an informative/explanatory writing rubric. I teach 2nd grade and designed it for my class and needs, but I can see it easily being used in 1st or 3rd grade. This download also includes a self assessment checklist and then a peer assessment checklist. Your students can work with a shoulder partner to help proofread and edit each other's work before you use the rubric to assess them formally. I am only charging a dollar for this because it isn't cute. I don't know how to add non copyrighte
This is a week long writing unit to be used with books or lessons about Pioneers and The Oregon Trail.
It includes:
- Brainstorming map (Venn Diagram)
- First/Next/Then/Last graphic organizer (Pre-writing)
- Rough draft graphic organizer and self assessment checklist (Proofread and Edit)

- 2 rubrics so you can take this as a grade if you like. One rubric only assesses the final copy paragraph. One rubric assesses the entire wr
This is a simple cooperative learning activity. There are 24 cards with sentences requiring students to use commas in a series. All sentences are wrong. Give each student a card and have them mix around the room. They will find a partner. The partner tells them what is wrong with the sentence. Then their partner quizzes them. There's a lot you can do with these cards, but ultimately, I just couldn't find anything like this on here for free. I ate way too much king cake today and wanted to save
This is a test about pronouns. I left it in Word so it could be edited. I included DOK level and point amounts on all questions. It is appropriate for grades 1-3 and made to be an addition to Journeys lesson 17. It is free because it is not cute.
If you are teaching ARC second grade and your students are struggling with the research question process sheets, I have re-created them using friendlier fonts and with more space to write. This resource is free and should be used in correlation with the products your school has already purchased. I am making no profit off of these. No copyrighted material was copied to make these. I based these on the intent of existing worksheets. You'll need to also download and print a food web and a life c
This is a set of 3 different generic exit tickets. They can be used for any subject and are suitable for grades 1-3. The first ticket is suitable for grades 1-5. Each page has the same ticket twice so you can print it and cut it hamburger style to distribute to your kids. I use the first ticket often, especially during observations, as it requires the students to self assess and then create and ask a question to a peer. I always get perfect scores in assessment and questioning with this one. I'm
This is a rubric I created to use to grade the entire bug research booklet for second grade ARC unit 2. This rubric only grades how successful they were in their research and in creating their book. It does not cover things like punctuation or spelling. No copyrighted material is used. Designed to be used in correlation with the 6 research questions. Free of charge. Fonts were free from dafont.com
This is a simple cooperative learning activity. There are 24 cards with sentences containing adjectives. Give each student a card and have them mix around the room. They will find a partner. The partner identifies the adjective in the sentence. Then their partner quizzes them. (Then they trade cards.) There's a lot you can do with these cards, but ultimately, I just couldn't find anything like this on here for free. I have a migraine and wanted to save you some trouble. This is in Word so you ca
I looked everywhere and could not find number lines counting vertically for my calendar board. So I begrudgingly took my Sunday morning and made these. They are small because they are made to be printed on card stock, cut, connected, and placed on your calendar board near your hundreds chart. This set includes counting by 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 10s, 25s, and 100s. Not all of the lines go all the way to 100 but this is a Word document so you can edit it if you want. This is America, you're free! And
This is a vocabulary test I made, designed to be used with unit 2 of ARC, the bug unit. There is no story content or copyrighted content on this test. It is only science vocabulary. Therefore, this could also be used as a science test for a bug unit in other grades. I uploaded it in Word in case you guys need to make changes.
