About the store
I have over 25 years of experience working with and encouraging high school students to be successful in math! I have taught everything from Pre-Algebra concepts to Pre-Calculus and every student from the Pre-AP high achievers to those that are repeating a course. I love getting the average student to realize that they can be good at math, that it isn't a horrible thing, and actually enjoy coming to class! If you have any questions about any of the resources in my store, please let me know by asking a question (under the "ask a question tab") or send an email directly to SecondaryMathSolutions@gmail.com.

Preview of Net Worth Project

Net Worth Project

This is a fun project where students find the net worth of their favorite celebrity or public figure. Great during a financial literacy unit or as an end of the year project! Students research the net worth of their favorite celebrity or public figure using the internet. Then they research other information about their person such as where they were born, when their birthday is, what they are known for, etc. Next, they create a one-page display of this information either on paper or digitally.

Teaching style

My goal is to make math easy to learn by making it engaging and fun with foldables, activities and games. In addition, I tend to make notes and practice sheets that are very focused on the specific skill or skills (sometimes pre-requisite) that need to be developed so that the student can be successful. My resources reflect this. In addition, the students that I teach are on-level or below and usually struggle with math and/or don't like it. My approach is to start with where they are and what they know and bring them up from there. My resources reflect this and do not contain too many tricky numbers or super high-level questions because I want to keep them engaged and feeling successful. Finally, I try to vary the approach and not do the same thing from day to day (notes, game, activity, foldable, etc.). Therefore, my store contains a variety of resources for each unit.
