Order of Operations Graphic Organizer

Created by
Self Station
This colorful graphic organizer provides a visual reminder of how to apply the order of operations. With concise descriptions, this is an accessible graphic which could be used as a classroom poster or given to specific students. If using this graphic as a visual for a lesson, a teacher could activate students' prior knowledge by comparing the graphic to the classic game of hopscotch ("hop from the top to the bottom, with some steps happening at the same time!"). This handout provides step-by-step, scaffolded word problems requiring students to not only convert customary units of length, but also to analyze their work. This would be great as a whole class lesson, a small group intervention, or a math center! Please contact me with any questions! Thanks for stopping by! -Lindsay Wiseman

Greatest Common Factor

Created by

This handout breaks down the process of finding a greatest common factor into easily followed steps. With exciting fonts, and organizational graphics, this handout is both visually appealing and highly beneficial for learners for whom math doesn't come easily. Not only do students have the opportunity to work a problem step by step, but they have to explain and justify their thinking, easily showing the teacher who gets it and who needs more teaching.
