Weekly Book Log
This weekly reading log is in English and Spanish. It requests the book title, minutes read, and a parent signature. In the directions it says for the child to read for 10 minutes daily but for my first grade class I change it to 15 then 20 minutes as the year progresses.
K - 6th

Passes
Customizable and reusable hall passes for the boys and girls bathrooms, library, office, and nurse. Type your name on the bottom, print and laminate on cardstock to be used all year. When the bathroom passes are grimy or lost, just print another one! I print two copies on cardstock, glue the duplicates together to make the passes double-sided then hole punch the top and add a color-coded lanyard. The passes are kept on hooks and above the hooks hang the matching color-coded signs.

Teaching style
Every year I am growing and changing, adapting to the needs of my class. I use a variety of approaches and try to differentiate as much as possible. I teach my math using a rotation schedule meeting with a high, medium, and low group daily and I supplement my reading basal with an additional readers' workshop. My self-paced spelling sight word program helps me to differentiate and push my students to be better readers and writers.
