This Halloween Color the Room activity is a great way to introduce write the room to your early learners who are struggling to form letters, read or write. Students are asked to find a card and color it to match on the recording sheet, testing their observation and coloring skills. As a first grade teacher in a low socio-economic setting, I often had a very skewed classroom spectrum of students who could read, struggled with letter names, and others who were several reading levels ahead.
