About the store

I am a former primary classroom teacher, with experience as a Teacher- Leader, curriculum developer and Leading Teacher. I have also worked in secondary and specialist education. Currently, I work in Regional school improvement supporting schools from all contexts as a Manager of the Professional Learning Communities initiative, and in the Tertiary sector teaching in an initial teacher education program.

Measuring Mass using planets

This lesson is designed for students in grades 4-6 and asks them to explore ideas of mass. They use a mathematical formula and measuring tools to calculate the mass of everyday objects, whilst learning about the solar system in a fun context. Included in this pack are both coloured and black-and-white masters of the recording sheet as well as a suggested plan for implementation.
