This is a great activity for students to demonstrate their understanding of the commutative property of addition and multiplication. It is quick and easy for teachers to grade/assess student's understanding of this concept!

My students use this to track which problems they solve incorrectly when practicing their basic math fact fluency. They typically use this when practicing their math facts on www.thatquiz.org, but you could use this with flash cards and other ways of practicing math facts. This tracking system puts the responsibility on the student to track their progress and they can immediately see what problems they need to focus on to improve their fact fluency.
