I have worked with K-5 students. All of my materials have been used with my students, so I've only put up the ones that have been tested and kid approved! ;)
I printed this onto black construction paper for an "Array City" bulletin board (Google for images). I cut strips of paper for windows and students cut the strips into rectangles or squares for their array. This template made their cities look MUCH better than having them cut their own buildings. I let them choose their own background color so there was still some student choice. ;) Wish I had a picture of my bulletin but took it down!

I don't know about you, but when I was teaching my second graders R.L. 2.9, compare and contrast two versions of the same story, I found it very difficult to find passages for practice. As much as I love printed story books, I wanted my second graders to be able to write on the paper.
Included in this download are three fairy tale rewrites of the fairy tales Rumplestiltskin, Cinderella, and The Frog Prince. They are written for mid-2nd to 3rd grade level, 2 pages each passage, 1.5 spaced, and
I sent a parent letter home for permission before starting the lesson. Included in the zip folder is a handout containing the rules and expectations for the lesson. Students read over and sign the paper and may add extra rules. I was very firm and consistent when teaching the lesson. Any child who broke the rule had to follow the consequences stated. I pulled out the sheet as a reminder that they had promised to follow the rules. As you can imagine, after a couple hiccups, the class went smoothl
The passage is from ReadWorks! Check it out if you haven't heard of it already. (https://www.readworks.org/article/Weathering-and-Erosion/766786c1-2b0c-4b35-b630-a7b2b16b6a8b#!articleTab:content/)
In this worksheet, students will describe a monster using pre-made adjectives either by cutting out and gluing the adjectives onto the boxes or by writing them in. It is a double sided worksheet but there is enough space on the second page for the student to be able to cut out the pre-made adjectives if they choose to do so.
On the second page, students will write in their own adjectives. Some suggestions are provided but they do not have to use them. Then they will draw their own monster base
I made this for my 4/5 combo class but edited it since putting it up on TeachersPayTeachers. My 4th graders did both stories but my 5th grader had the additional compare/contrast writing portion. You can, however, use the worksheets to scaffold up to the writing portion!

This is an editable bingo mat with two different versions (though unnecessary since students choose which adverb, noun, adjective, etc. they want to fill in.) It is an excellent way of differentiating between noun, verb, adjective, and adverb!
You can also edit the mats to make it simpler or include your students’ names.
Instructions:
1. Call out “Mark an __________!” and the students will pick either noun, adjective, adverb, verb, pronoun, etc. For example, if you call out “Mark an adject

I rewrote this little Norse mythology because a student wanted to know about Thor's mysterious wife. I found some wonderful stories online, but most of them were written for adults. I took a summary I found online and wove my own story from it. I'm aware that there may be different versions, but I chose to tweak this one since it was short and simple.
The summary can be found on this website: http://www.thaliatook.com/AMGG/sif.php
I simplified the story as much as possible, so that advanced f
