About the store

Experience

I have been a special education teacher in a public high school since 2009. I teach students with moderate to severe disabilities that will not be receiving a diploma at the end of their time in high school. I teach life skills math and English classes, along with co-teaching general education classes.

Teaching style

I like my students to be as independent as possible. Although worksheets have their place, I like them to explore by using hands-on materials and technology whenever possible to practice and reinforce concepts.

My own education history

I received my bachelor's degree is in Elementary Education/Special Education in 2009 and my Master's degree in Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2014.

Additional biographical information

My favorite way to teach is using centers and rotations. My students love to be hands on and it keeps them so much more engaged (and reduces their off task time and behaviors).
