For your ELD students taking the AZELLA test Stage II, talking on the phone might be scary or confusing. This is a practice you can use for you students. I partnered up with a buddy class and had one of their students call my classroom and ask the questions. My students answered the questions in complete sentences.
Use this template for students to practice surveying, collecting data, creating a picture graph and then analyzing their graphs. You can use this whole group with the same question or differentiate by having students create their own question. This practice is created with "I can.." statements within the directions. Enjoy!
I use this with my ELL students as one of their daily vocabulary stations but would work great for any student. It can be used on the computer (I like to put mine on WIXIE or Google Classroom for my students.) Measurement can be tough for students especially when comparing inches and centimeters. I use this activity with my students to make measuring fun. Students may need rulers, yardsticks, or tape measures. I first have my students measure their arms, head, legs feet, and hands in inches. Use these cards to practice Noun Modifiers. You can make a copy for groups to play Go Fish or just make a class set and time them on how long it takes them to find their match.
I use this blank diagram to help teach my students about qualities of a diagram. I teach about how a diagram must include a title, labels, and a picture (illustration or photograph). Using this product, students are able to create their own title and labels for their diagrams. I also include a brace map on the back for students to identify the title of their own diagram and the label they choose.
