I asked our third graders for suggestions for helping them review fractions and this was their idea: a two page comic book that features one of their favorite foods, PIZZA! A pizza is divided and divided to review halves, quarters, and eighths. Choose color or blackline images that students can color. Choose to print with text or have students add text. Use a powerpoint to introduce the sequence of images or copy and paste from the presentation to use the images in another way in your classroom

My students are fascinated by this activity. Consider using it as you introduce, review, or practice multiplication facts. It helps students to see the patterns created by products. Use two worksheets to list the multiples of each number 2-10. Convert the two-digit products to single digits. Use a circle with numbers next to the list to show the pattern created by the products.
