Second Grade Survival Kit! This is what I hand out on the first day of school along with a small bag filled with the items on the list. The kids enjoy getting something fun and it always generates great discussions about the upcoming year!
Here is a simple way for students to be accountable for their forgotten homework. IF a student doesn't have work to turn in, they take a post-it, fill out date, reason for not having homework and they stick it in their planner for a parent to sign and return. Teachers then stick the note inside student's individual file for a record of homework.

First print out the template and stick post it notes on top of it. Carefully feed it into your printer tray. BE SURE you know which way your printer feeds the paper to avoid jamming it. (I place my paper face down with the top feeding first).

Here is a fun way to hand out homework passes that will not get lost! I have my students stick the pass onto the inside of their folder pocket. Print out the template, stick the post-it notes on to it and put it through your printer. BE SURE you know which direction your printer feeds, or else it will jam. (I place my template with sticky notes upside-down with the top feeding first).
Here are the spelling lists broken up by each weekly story. Each page has four copies of each spelling list. The pages can be printed on to card stock paper, laminated, and used for word work centers. I left it simple because many of my student are distracted by extra clip art. Enjoy!
