I created this assessment for my students with special needs (Non readers as well as ENL students) as the assessments provided by the Envisions Math program tends to be wordy and difficult for my students to understand. This assessment enables the students to demonstrate that they understand and can apply the strategies taught in Topic 1 of the 3rd grade, Envisions math curriculum, without confusing them with multi-step, higher ordered thinking word problems.

This activity was created to coincide with the Math envisions lesson on drawing arrays to solve multiplication problems. This activity was created specifically to serve a special education class, where students need extra practice and tangible activities to grasp and practice concepts taught.
