I've taught for 10 years in Georgia and now Colorado. Most of my teaching experience has been as an intermediate classroom teacher, but I was also lucky enough to have the experience of looping from 4th grade to 5th grade. I am back in 4th grade and loving it. I've experienced teaching in a departmentalized setting. I have a masters in Educational Leadership with my principals license. Being an elementary teacher, I've taught all subject areas and constantly think of ways to link subjects to one another. I like to think about ways to engage children in content area topics through collaboration and discussion. I have a passion for differentiated instruction (both for learners who need more support and for advanced students who need more challenge). I have successfully implemented Project Based Learning and Service learning at the classroom level, building level, and district level. I am passionate about Restorative Practices and working with teachers to incorporate these into their classrooms. I believe in allowing students voices to be heard and providing them with experiences that will create memories to last a lifetime.
