Instead of assigning a long narrative writing assignment, work on each element that makes a narrative engaging. You can adjust for different grade levels and decide which aspects summative and formative grades. Rubrics are included. Students can go back and forth from the Table of Contents to get to each activity.

This is one part of the Elements of Narrative Writing Unit. You will need enough dice for partners, or for individual students. You can fill out the chart together if you are working with students who need more support. Then they roll the dice for each protagonist/antagonist, setting, and conflict. Students will then write an exposition from their favorite combination.
