Smart Steps

Stocking shelves, an entry level job, is a skill that can be practiced ahead of time. In this unit, participants read a comic story with Sophia, who is new at a grocery store. She works through a couple of decisions and asks her supervisor a question. Discussion questions are provided. Use this grade check sheet as a routine Monday Grade Check. Students check their own grades and use it for reference throughout the week. Use it for: 1-1 Conferencing, Goal-setting, and Follow up. Students record their current grade and indicate missing assignments or other actions they plan to take in order to raise their grades.
