This pack includes 3 pages of basic adding and subtracting tens from various numbers using base-ten blocks as concrete visuals.

Students can follow the easily recognizable steps of how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then write or draw in the step that is missing. Great for critical thinking, or a fun way to jump start a how-to writing unit.

Have students show what they know about the difference in the seasons. I had my students draw the same tree in all four seasons, but you could have your students draw what clothing would be appropriate, what activities you can do, or what the weather is like in each season. Students must use phonics and blending skills in order to match the picture to the correct word. As they decide between the two choices, one real and one nonsense, they must ask themselves, "does this word make sense?" which can then be generalized and applied as an independent reading strategy.

I made this quick review/warm up for teacher table or independent practice. Have kids use their decoding skills as well as consonant blends to select the correct picture.
