This lab will demonstrate how ocean currents move matter and energy around the Earth. Highlights: - Surface Currents: global winds, continental deflection - Deep Currents: temperature and salinity - Convection Currents: hot and cold water and density differences - Upwelling: movement of cold, nutrient rich water to the surface to provide food for plankton and other marine animals.

This activity can be used as a warm up to test their knowledge about whether something is botanically considered a fruit, vegetable or berry.
