A quick activity to encourage students to decode CVC words. Students decode the words, then cut and paste into the appropriate column--real or nonsense. One page of words includes simple CVC words, the second page includes CVC words that contain beginning blends.

My students love these simple card games. I find they stay more attentive and will read other players cards when there are “lose a turn” or “draw again” cards in the deck.
