Hi Teachers! I had always LOVED the Drops in the Bucket that was created for math. I set out to create a mixed review that would be short yet use a variety of assessment styles. I came up with BRAIN WORK. My kids love it. I use it for homework and they are always eager to pick it up! They love the variety and the brevity. Our discussions, as we go over the assignment are always engaging and fun. This sample is free, but I also have a set of 15 that would set you up for MANY homework

Okay, imagine the Cookie Monster singing his 'One of these things is not like the other,' song. Kids quiet down immediately. You don't even have to say a word... just point at the screen. You can dance to the music. Hands will pop into the air. Resist. Don't call on a student until the song ends and many hands are in the air. The first kid will have an answer. Resist commenting. Ask why they think that (they may have an entirely different answer than expected, but their scientific exp

I have created this for my fifth graders. If you think you would use it, I have ten more bundled together. I have used them for homework, warm-ups, and even as a station of my CENTERS. My kids seem to like the format and I like that I only use one sheet of paper per week.I make a front to back copy.

Hi Teachers! I created this to use as a REVIEW for our upcoming fifth grade science STAAR test. This review focuses on the READINESS TEKS (65% of the test). For each TEK, there is a short challenge. I plan on using it as a mastery assessment. If students show mastery, they ‘test out’ and move on to a more enriching assignment. Students who have not mastered the readiness TEKS can be retaught and try again. I plan on creating five versions and I will post my newer versions (same TEKS with

I am using this in my class to review the characteristics of the Earth, Moon and Sun. Students are able to organize the terms that show their understanding of the bodies in space. I laminate and cut them out so I can use them year after year. I like to have students work in small groups to encourage collaborative decision making. By walking around the room, I am able to assess understanding and make corrections.

I am going to use these diagrams for my students to sort and generate their own questions. I plan to laminate so they'll be easy to manipulate. A teacher could cut these out and post on butcher paper for students to brainstorm all of the possible questions that could apply to the illustration.

This is a one page practice on how the moon rotates around the earth. Have the kids shade in the the half of the moon that does not receive sunlight. After shading, I like to have my students visualize what the moon look like FROM EARTH. I use this to teach that half of the moon is always lit, but the view from the Earth changes as the moon rotates. I know this is better in a 3D, hands-on lesson, but sometimes we HAVE to put it to the paper!
