SCIENCE Coloring Book - last minute STAAR review -5th TEKS

I love doodling and my kids love coloring. I created this booklet last year and pulled them out as my homework for their STAAR review. I LOVE IT! I made the 11 page copy and stapled it as a book. Their homework assignment is to color a page (in any order). When they come back to class, they give their book to a partner (must be a different partner every day). The partner writes a page on the facing page. It is a wonderful, quiet 10 minutes. I ask them to put the coloring page into words.

A roll of the dice will let the water molecule know where it will travel next. This activity includes 10 stations and a lab sheet where students will record information, make vocabulary notes (or pictures), and summarize their journey. A student will take a bead at each station so they will end up with a bracelet or necklace marking their incredible journey. This activity expands a child’s idea of the water cycle and teaches essential vocabulary. The journey CAN be done without beads!! This

My students struggle with applying they knowledge of a concept when it is represented on a table or a chart. I created these charts of REFLECTION and REFRACTION. It requires students to analyze the difference between the two concepts. I would make copies of the two chart pages and place them in plastic pages. This will save paper. Make a copy of the third page (the worksheet) for each student or partner. I am going to have students work with a partner, which will encourage a discuss

A LAB ready to go! Grab a few materials and you have great lab that your students will love. You are purchasing a lab sheet booklet (print front to back and fold). It fits perfectly in your INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK. It'll walk you and your students though an active, classroom lab where student play with gravity, friction and mass. I designed the lab sheet with structure (It is nice to follow a plan) but open-endedness that allows your students (and you) flexibility.
