In this lab, students model the function of the excretory system and investigate how the amount of water intake affects the kidney.

Jigaw Reading Activities are a fun and engaging way to introduce, or reinforce a topic while encouraging cooperative learning. I will usually assign a jigsaw reading activity after I have introduced the topic using a video or mini skills lab. I will then have a whole class discussion on what we have learned based on the jigsaw activity and address any misconceptions with explicit instruction. Included are the graphic organizer and instructions on how to run a Jigsaw Activity. Happy teaching!
