About the store

Experience

I have taught elementary general and choral music since 2018 in urban North American settings. Prior to that, I taught general music in an urban high school.

Teaching style

I like to use a mix of Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze in my lessons to build music literacy skills and make sure my students enjoy music class and learn something too. I think getting your body involved in music is the only real way to truly understand it, so we do a lot of movements in my class. I also believe that a positive classroom environment is the best space to learn music in, so I always make sure the students who are doing the right thing get the attention and I celebrate when students who struggle with their behavior do the right thing.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I received Departmental Honors for my undergraduate honors thesis in Teaching Music to Students with Disruptive Behavior Disorders.
