Partner activity to help students practice finding perfect square and cube roots. You can choose whether students are allowed to use a calculator. There are four rounds for students to play. Partner 1 chooses a square and calculates the square or cube root. If they are correct, they place an X or O on that square. If they are incorrect, the other student places their X or O. Play continues until one player wins or until it is a draw.
This is a pairs check worksheet to help students practice adding and subtracting integers. Partner students up based on formative data. Students cut the worksheet in half and one person solves the left and one person solves the right. The problems are different but students will get the same answer. If they get different answers, conversations are encouraged to determine what went wrong.
This slideshow includes the student copy and teacher copy of notes about the distributive property. The distributive property will be introduced to students using a real-world cooking example, followed by a formal definition, and practice problems. This is a great introduction to distributive property and would pair well with an instructional video.
