Many children, particularly those with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder present with difficulties understanding and using figurative language. This resource includes a list of common metaphors which can be taught and then provided to parents to take home and practice.
This resource is designed to teach the concept of 'front' and 'back' and then begin to teach the sounds at word level. It is consistent with an articulation approach; moreover, the complexity of words increases as you move through the booklet. The student will initially learn to produce the target sounds in initial position at CV (consonant-vowel) level and then progress to CVC structures within both initial and final position.
