Each September I begin teaching the Writing Process to my special education students by teaching them how to write a personal narrative. This packet includes: one prewriting template, 3 differentiated templates (color coded to help students with visual processing needs), a data collection sheet, and a sample lesson plan including the CCLS anchor with objectives. This is a straightforward checklist that can be used with middle schoolers to guide their short answer writing. The checklist includes sentence starters to initiate their responses, allowing them to mark off each used element. Additionally, a self-assessment is integrated at the conclusion.
This is a letter I created to give out in September. It helps me keep a record of which students are working with Agencies and have Medicaid Service Coordination. I keep them in the Student Portfolios Binders and pull them out when needed especially for Annual Reviews and Triennials.
The student of the week gets to take a special picture each day as a reward. There are six types of pictures to choose from. The students enjoy the competition and the teacher benefits from attaining pictures of the class without having to think about it.
Each Special Needs Student is unique and comes to the classroom with a range of individual needs a typical student doesn't need to address. This questionnaire (English & Spanish Versions) will help parents/guardians answer detailed questions the student may not be able to express. A wonderful tool for teachers, paraprofessionals, and other service providers.
We developed this little coloring book specifically tailored for English Language Learners (ELL) who are also Students with Disabilities (SWD). This coloring book is available in both Spanish and English, serving as a valuable resource to support the language learning journey of these students. The aim is to provide an inclusive and engaging tool for language acquisition and creative expression that meets the unique needs of ELL students, including those with disabilities.
