These worksheets coordinate with the "How Plants Grow" Celery Experiment.
There are 4 worksheets and 2 levels.
The first 2 worksheets go with the simple experiment.
Worksheets 3 and 4 go with the modified more difficult experiment with added steps.
Depending upon the ability level of your student, you can choose the worksheet with space for written and picture observations or picture only.
I have a science board on which I display Steps 1-5 of the experiment as well as the observation worksheets
This an easy hands-on and fun experiment that helps to explain how a penguins skin stays dry, keeping them warm in the frigid weather and water.
This experiment coordinates with "Penguin Week" Or while studying the Arctic Polar Regions, Animal Habitats or the Scientific Method.
The packet includes two levels of Step 4, "Do the Experiment".
Children are taught that plants and flowers need sunlight and water to grow. This is an easy hands-on experiment that demonstrates how plants absorb water. This experiment can be done while teaching "life" or "earth" science as well as the "Scientific Method".
Please note: there are 2 versions:
Simple Exp 1: pages 1-3 and more difficult Exp 2: pages 1, 4 and 5
Also please look at Celery Stalk Experiment Observation Worksheets.
This an easy, hands-on and interactive experiment. I used it when we studied the water cycle and the science unit on fresh and salt water . The students really enjoyed it.
These are two easy "chromatography" science experiments. I generally do the first experiment, which involves black markers and coffee filters, in the winter. When I am done with this experiment, the students make snowflakes out of their dried coffee filters and display them in the room.
The second experiment is a slight "twist" on the 1st. Instead of markers, black jelly beans are used. This is a fun way to reinforce chromatography/colors during spring or Easter.
This is a simple reading and comprehension printable about our American flag. There are 2 pages; one with a colored flag and one on which your students can color the flag.
Can be used while studying; Presidents Day, history of our country, 4th of July, etc.
Also attached is a Pledge of Allegiance fill-in the blanks.
This is an easy, fun and great hands-on activity that your students will love. This activity/experiment can be used when learning about animal adaptations to their environment and animal camouflage. I used it when learning about polar bears and their adaptations. Specifically how their white fur camouflages them in the snow so that prey cannot see them.
I have included a student graph worksheet.
Easy one page reading and comprehension worksheets for each of the 8 planets in our Solar System. I developed these because I could not find a short, one page, comprehensive, easy to read and understand printable for each of our planets.
My students love learning about the Solar System.
These pages can be easily embedded in your Solar System lesson plans.
We teach that animals like Polar Bears and whales, have thick layers of fat called blubber that helps them stay warm in cold weather and cold water. This is an easy hands-on experiment that follows the scientific method that helsp the students understand why these animals have thick layers of blubber. I use this experiemnt when studying about the arctic, animal habitats and adaptations.
This science experiment can be used for SPED students, CAPA level I and II. A general ed. K-2 student could also do this lab. This is a hands-on experiment that can be a little messy, but the kids love it!
This is a simple experiment that can help start the conversation about tolerance and prejudice. The oranges can be compared to people. The decorated oranges are different on the outside but the same on the inside, like people.
This experiement can be used when studying "Black History Month", "Womens Rights", tolerance, prejudice and potentially bullying.
This is a fun and easy activity, hands-on and visual.
Can be used while learning directionality, during a Nature Scavenger Hunt or while teaching old-new world exploration.
A fun penguin packet that includes easy comprehension, sentence writing with graphic organizer and graphing. Use during "Penguin Week" while studying animal habitats and/or the Polar Regoins.
This is an easy hands-on experiment to do when introducing the Scientific Method, during life science instruction and/or when teaching hygiene.
When my class does this experiment, I take pictures of the before (dirty hands) and after (one hand washed with water and the other with soap and water). I display the pictures with the experiment write-up on my science bulletin board.
It's dirty but lots of fun!
I have included a 4th page so that you can input your own number results and graph.
