By two years old, children should start incorporating verbs into two-word phrases. For example, "Mummy look", "Wash Teddy". I've put together a visual of some of the early verbs that children tend to learn first. I love to use this visual with families when planning goals.
A visual representation of early language development. I have used this visual so many times as a Speech Pathologist. It's important to note the the bottom levels are acquired first, with speech development last!
