I use this visual a lot with my older students with pragmatic language difficulties to help them maintain topic, keep the conversation going, and overall just demonstrate more appropriate behaviors in

About the store

Experience

I am a speech and language pathologist based in Dallas, TX. I currently work in two different private clinics in the DFW area but I have worked in a variety of settings throughout my career, including home health, schools, clinics, and hospitals. I'm passionate about literacy, pragmatic language, and just making speech therapy fun!

Teaching style

I do clinic, home, and school-based therapy throughout my day. With younger kids, I love focusing on play-based therapy, as so much research how kids learn so much more successfully through play. I love focusing on literacy-based and/or theme-based therapy to increase cohesion and understanding throughout my sessions.

My own education history

I went to the University of Michigan for undergraduate and then Northwestern University for graduate school. After graduating with my Masters Degree, I have continued to increase my educational knowledge by gaining training in Orton Gillingham. I've also continued to grow my knowledge base in the areas of play-based therapy, Social Thinking! curriculum, the SCERTS model, and much, much more.
