This project is designed to summarize the statistical problem solving process (Formulate a Question, Collect Data, Analyze Data, and Interpret Data). I use it as students' end of school year summative assessment for an introductory statistics course. In groups of up to 3 students, they use these questions to create an in class presentation. This statistics activity explores summarizing and displaying one variable quantitative data. Students will use concepts such as median, quartiles, calculating the fences for outliers, modified box plots, dot plots, and when we should use median and interquartile range as measures of center and spread. Good for summarizing a unit or for a sub day activity late in a unit about analyzing data.
