Surface Area & Volume of Oblique Prisms: Student Investigation
In this investigation, students will use raw spaghetti and mini marshmallows to discover how the surface area and volume of a prism relate to the surface area and volume of the respective oblique prism. Students will be asked to create a rectangular prism using marshmallows to connect the vertices. Give students a transparent tool to help them label triangles!
Students often have trouble labeling parts (such as x, 2x, a, b, c, opposite, adjacent, hypotenuse, etc) of triangles for Special Triangles, Pythagorean Theorem, and Trigonometry. To help my students do this correctly, I give each student a labeled triangle printed on transparency film.

This card game is based on the traditional game "I have... Who has..." Topics included in this 20 card set are add, subtract, multiply, divide and order integers as well as 1-step equations. Teacher notes and extension activities are provided.
How to play:
Hand out a card to each student. Some students may need to have 2 depending upon how many in a set. It is important to use all the cards in a set.

Transformation Activity Using iOS Photo Booth
This inquiry activity is a fun way to discover the various properties of rotations and reflections. Students and or the teacher will take reflection pictures of students using an iOS device and the Photo Booth App. (This app usually comes standard on iOS devices.)
