Students use their five senses to determine which properties and changes are physical and which are chemical properties of the solution they create. This is a WOW lab!
Students use a free iPad app to create an animation that explains how a living thing can be fossilized. Students must show three different types of fossilization and this is the packet that has them work through this critical thinking activity.
This lab causes a single replacement reaction that breaks down a compound. It is a clear example that compounds are made up of elements as the copper is removed from the copper chloride and left sitting in the bottom of the beaker.
Students interact and make observations of the sun's trajectory as it rises and sets at specified dates during the year. The app is free and this is the lab sheet to ensure students are learning the material you want them to.
This is a fun way for students to learn about light and color. Go through the app/lab yourself to ensure you have the few things you will need for them to complete all the experiments. IE: index card, etc...

Students use Pixel Press Floors on the iPad to create an original video game where the hero tries to get through as many physical and chemical changes as possible. Students will publish their video games to the arcade and also have other teams beta test their games to ensure that it does not have any gliches.
Students create a time line of events that lead up to present day and begin with the beginning of earth. They use their research to create a Claymation video.
Students work in groups and choose three physics concepts. They use those concepts to create carnival games out of recycled goods after watching Caine's Arcade video clip. Students set up their carnival and invite other students to come play their games.
This has students going through the rock cycle and interacting with mini experiments along the way. It's a great way to introduce your rock unit! The ipad app is free and this is the lab sheet to guide students through to ensure they are recieivng the information you want them to.
Students use a free iPad application to incorporate their knowledge of Newton's laws into creating flip book cartoons that become real animations. Students work in teams of two acting as cartoonists.
This is virtual lab intended for students to learn and to understand the difference between the three as well as the interaction of weight, mass and gravity. The app is free and this is the lab sheet that students use to navigate through the app to ensure they are learning the necessary information.
Students virtually construct different circuits and complete different tests to learn aspects of the parallel and series circuits. This is the lab sheet that guides students through the app to ensure understanding.

In order to do this amazing lab you must purchase the two parts to make Flexible Urethane Foam. This is the lab sheets and directions to guide student through this. I did this as a Halloween experiment and students absolutely LOVE it! I had students use sharpies, and add eyes, feathers, etc...in the 'drying process' which is fast. Try it before you do it with students. They competed to see who had the scariest, cutest, etc... monster.
This is an edible lab that has students making inferences as to which ingredient is missing and applying observations to change those inferences. Great for the first week!
Use the recipe on the side of a RITZ cracker box to make your 'apple pie'.
This incorporates wave interactions and light energy and has students delving deeper in to light aspects.
