I have taught multiple levels of high school math in my career and am currently working as a math interventionist at the high school level. Equations of Lines Reference Sheet
Reference sheet covers the basics of equations of lines. Includes slope, slope-intercept form, point-slope form, and standard form. Perfect to have for students as they are learning the multiple forms of an equation to use as a reference when solving problems and great as a quick review for students in higher-level math courses.
8th - 11th

Polynomial Division Scavenger Hunt
Students can start at any question. The answer they get for that problem helps them find the next question to complete. All problems can be solved using synthetic or long division. There are no remainders. The slides are in the correct order in the file and should be mixed up when hanging them around the room.
10th - 12th, Higher Education

Solving Linear Systems of Equations by Elimination Scavenger Hunt
Post the problems around the room and have students start at any question. They will use the worksheet provided to solve each system. The answer they get will guide them towards the next problem to solve.
8th - 12th

Rolling Dice for Operations and Compositions of Functions
Students can work independently or in pairs to complete the activity. They will roll a dice to determine which functions to use for each problem and then complete the operation or composition in each box.

I believe that students learn and retain information best when they are actively solving problems and working collaboratively with their peers.
My own education history
I earned my undergraduate degree in business before doing a teacher certification program through the local community college. I started as a special education teacher but transitioned to a high school math teacher. I have my masters in education leadership and am partway through my masters in math education.
