I’m an experience middle school science teacher with over 25 years in the classroom, teaching in both elementary and middle school settings. I’ve spent time diving into STEM, Technology, and Robotics, and I absolutely love bringing hands-on learning and tech into the curriculum.
These days, I’m an Instructional Tech Coach and VSTE Certified Coach, helping other teachers create student-centered, tech-friendly classrooms. I’m all about inquiry-based learning—giving students the tools and space to explore, ask questions, and grow at their own pace. I’ve been passionate about designing lessons that spark curiosity ever since.

Observation and Inferences Quiz
Two, short, 9 question quizzes to assess student's knowledge of qualitative and quantitative observations. Students must also read statements and determine if it is an observation or inference. All questions reference a cartoon at the top of the quizzes. Answer keys are inlcuded. This could also be used as a homework assignment or exit slip.

Metric Measurement Exit Slip
An exit slip for students to practice reading scientific equiment using metric measurements. Practice reading a metric ruler, graudated cylinder, triple beam balance, and thermometer. Requires students to identify the correct usage of the scientific equipment and its units.

Science Variables and Airplanes
This is a lesson that was created to teach students about science variables: independent, dependent, control, and constants. Individual students create a paper airplane then improve upon one plane the group chooses. Included with this purchase is a WORD document that can printed and used with students. Experimental Design Practice
Students read a scenario and need to identify the independent variable, dependent variables, conrtol, and constant variables. Then students create a hypothesis. Students also interpret a data chart and create a graph based on the data identified. This is assignment is used to asses how well students understand the process of designing experiments and their knowledge of variables.

This is a homework, warm up, exit slip, or classwork that reinfores the basic concepts and variables in an experiment. Students read the scenario and identify the independent variable, dependent variable, constants, and write a hypothesis.

Identifying Variables Lab
A lab designed to show students how variables are used in an experiment. I use this when I am teaching what variables are and how they work in an experiment. This lab has students compare increasing amounts of clacium chloride with water temperature. Students also read the research and steps to create a hypothesis using If and Then. An answer key for the graph set up and experimental design is included. Sample answers for observations are also included.

Transfer of Heat
Lesson designed for 6th graders to teach the three ways heat is transferred; conduction, convection, radiation. Also shows how these are transfered in our atmosphere. A handout is included for students to use to write notes from the presentation.

Classification Lesson
A lesson that explains what classification is and why it is important. There is a group activity that has students think about where they use classification. A final activity is included for students to do individually. This activity also reviews qualitative observations. Zip file includes a notebook file and word document.

Typed notes on the basics of energy, including potential energy and kinectic energy. Can be used as teacher notes, notes for absent students, notes for special education students that need a copy of class notes, or can be posted on a website for parents to reference to help their child with homework.

Variable Exit Slip
A quick way to see if students have retained the knowledge about variables. This activity has students cut the descriptions from the bottom and glue them next to the matching term. Great reinforcement for SPED and ELL students.

A poster showing the scientific method as a flow chart. This can be printed into a poster and hung on the wall in your science classroom or can be printed as a handout to given to students to place in their interactive notebooks.

Introduction to Metric Unit Activity
Activity designed to introduce the concept of standardized measurement, the metric system, its units and relationships. Students use different 'units' like a pencil and body parts to take measurements of different objects. Students will practice collecting data and properly recording data onto a chart. Students will practice making valid conclusions using the recorded data. This could be adapted for use in a math class.
