What's Ny Name? A Geometry Diagram Labeling Activity - Distance Learning

This product focuses on the terms learned at the start of geometry. Diagrams of points, lines, line segments, rays, and planes are provided. Various labels are provided, including some correct and some incorrect for each diagram. Students will drag and drop the labels in the appropriate category of "Correct Labels" or "Incorrect Labels". I find that students don't pay close attention to proper labeling, such as, when to capitalize a letter or not. This activity is meant to get students thinking

The Eight Mathematical Practices Classroom Posters

These posters are the Common Core's eight mathematical practice standards. I like to keep them hanging up in my classroom for me and my students to view. Two versions included: Watercolor backgrounds Black & white The black and white version looks great as is but would pop nicely if printed on colored paper. I recommend also laminating them for durability.

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching secondary math for four years. So far, I've taught Geometry every year, but this year I will also be teaching Algebra 1. I am a Special Education teacher and have a collaborative partner for some of my classes. I love teaching and forming relationships with my students! A little side note - I also coach cheerleaders and choreograph our school play each year.

Teaching style

My lessons always begin with notes, and I love for mine to be neatly organized with a flair of fun and a pop of color. I provide my students with a lot of graphic organizers to aide in their understanding of the material. I love providing hands on activities and allowing my students opportunities to move throughout the room. I create a lot of task cards, scavenger hunts, and stations activities of varying levels to meet the needs of all learners in the room. My district went 1:1 with laptops, so I started incorporating a lot more digital activities into lessons. Lastly, my students love games, and I love keeping them motivated! We play Jeopardy, MATHO (Math BINGO), Tumble Tower, and Mathsketball (Math Basketball) to review for assessments, and my students always stay on task with these activities! I'm always interested in learning what works for others in the classroom too.
