I have been teaching science in a public, suburban high school in New York for over 10 years. I am certified in biology, general science and special education. I have taught general education, special education, and honors students. Most recently I began teaching AP Biology and I absolutely love it! I enjoy teaching various levels of learners while differentiating my instruction to meet their individual needs.

Isopod (Pillbug) Behavior Lab Activity
Lab activity designed to use isopods (aka pillbugs or rolly-pollys) to test animal behavior. Students utilize choice chambers and common substances to see what the organisms prefer. Analyze and identify likes/dislikes of the organisms. Compare all senses of the organisms. Allow students to complete an inquiry activity by designing their own labs too! Very fun for all science ages.

Teaching style
I believe in student-centered learning with an emphasis on teacher-directed motivational activities. I love to enhance learning with inquiry-based activities that allow students to discover the information on their own either during independent or group lessons.
