This lab-based activity allows students to use genetics knowledge to understand how to use and create a Karyotype and Pedigree. It also teaches sex-linked disorders. Very student-centered and allows the teacher to be a coach rather then a the speaker.

Lab activity designed to use isopods (aka pillbugs or rolly-pollys) to test animal behavior. Students utilize choice chambers and common substances to see what the organisms prefer. Analyze and identify likes/dislikes of the organisms. Compare all senses of the organisms. Allow students to complete an inquiry activity by designing their own labs too!
