To be used with the Lucy Calkins Unit of Study for Narrative Writing, this was designed for a 4th grader to use as a checklist but would easily adapt to 3rd or 5th (or higher) to help guide self reflection. It's based off the rubric for narrative writing, but is written in a kid-friendly language. If you are looking to do this with informational writing, check out my Informational Writing Checklist for students.

If you use note taking and have a minilesson on how to write conclusions, this short page will be perfect for you to download and print for your class. It is brief, small enough to cut down to fit into a composition notebook, and goes along with Lucy Calkins writing grades 3 and 4 (with my own twist, not word for word with her language). I made this file type a document so you would be able to adapt it and change to meet your personal language needs.
