Students research a commodity and it's economic impact on both a national and global level. A blank worksheet is included as well as several pre-determined commodity pages. This assignment is designed to be used with MyCAERT lesson A-1-7 -  Agriculture’s Impact on theWorld Economy but can be used independently.

Students research eight common grocery store labels along with regulations, production techniques, and then decide if it is a marketing tactic or a truly meaningful label. This assignment is designed to be used with MyCAERT lesson A-1-5 -  Trends in Consumer Preference but can be used independently.

Students explore the basic human needs and how products they use and consume are connected and intertwined to ag careers and pathways. The Google Doc contains instructions, links to helpful sites, and a partial example web. This assignment is designed to be used with MyCAERT lesson A-1-1- Nature and Importance of the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Industry but can be used independently.

Students will analyze a household’s weekly food waste, evaluate the agricultural resources lost, and design practical strategies to reduce future waste through improved storage, substitution, and purchasing decisions. This no-prep (other than making copies) resource is great for a sub day, or 2, or if you just need to fill some time. The optional extension activity could take this lesson from one day to two or more!
